STATEMENTLouis De Cordier Alpujarras, December 2011 Now. Today is the day, and this is the hour. Surely we grow tired of “wake-up calls” to action. After all, vibrations about massive change are coming to us at increasing rate. We do face a fundamental tipping point, one we are getting full-blown. The roots of the huge challenge we are facing today are deep, and have grown for millennia. Only a new image of ourselves and life will bail us out this time. The rediscovery of very ancients paradigms, that of the sacredness of everyday life, the sanctity of every life form, of our living earth, ourselves and each other, alone can turn the tide. Our problems derive not from our science, technology, economic system, diet, nor any other thing we do. They arise out of our culture – our view of the world. The reasons most solutions offered to the world’s crises are impractical is because they arise from the same worldview that caused the problem. No alternative technologies, not even free energy will ‘save the world’. We can save much of it by changing our culture…and that change in perspective will organically lead us to the ancient keys of life, without necessarily going back to a Stone Age. In order to make this shift happen new vibrating stories are needed, both personally and for our culture. Small fascinating stories about people, friends, family doing positive vital things. When a large enough group of people believes the new message our cultural vision will spontaneously ‘shift’, preserving the human race and the earth. From personal experience living here in the Alpujarras, I see great hope in the growing trend among conscious people toward, moving to places where there is enough earth around to grow some of your own food, a local source of drinkable water and look into generating your own electricity, build a root-cellar and put up food for the winter. Living more delicately on the Earth, people choosing to live as a family tribe, and integrating in local sustainable community networks. Those living ‘off the grid‘ are increasing in number and have a lot of significant presence in the world, especially because they embody and emit values of independence and self-sufficiency. Be one of the great story makers, who put change into the ether, into the collective unconscious, into what Rupert Sheldrake calls the morphic field. Become independent from the power of the dominator consumerism and free from the big cities, which most clearly personify the spiritual disconnection of our city/state culture. Oppose all cunning and deceit, to feel lost and empty, to suffer from the inner void. This is the time to connect with the ground of our being. There is hope for the future, today, tomorrow and coming.
